Julius in the Army in The Great War
Grandpa Julius was a Doughboy in WW I , sailed to France and fought "those Krauts" as he liked to say. This photo is from 1918 so he would have been 22 or 23 at the time of the picture. Grandpa Julius died in 1982.
Grandma Ida at age 22.
Grandpa Julius as a young man.
Thought I would post a couple photos of my Grandfather as a young man. He was born in 1895. The top photo Julius is on the left at 20 years old. Photo from 1916. The second photo Julius is on the right at the age of 22, photo from 1917. The names of his friends he is posing with are lost with time. Bet you never thought you would be seen all over the world Grandpa!

King Leo's Hamburgers
Do you remember the hamburger chain King Leo's?
Here's a couple of photos from 1974 of one of the stores. I think they all closed down in the mid 1970's. Too bad. The burgers were 15¢ at the time of opening in the late 1960's. We had several hamburger chains in town. McDonald's, Burger King, Hardee's, Henry's Hamburgers, King Leo's, Sandy's, Wendy's. I'm pretty sure I have some pics of Henry's Hamburgers sitting around. When I find them I'll scan them and post.
It's just Burger King, Wendy's, McDonald's, Culver's that remain.
